Lionel Messi: A Prodigy

He moved to Rosario, Argentina, with his family when he was five years old, and began playing football with the Los Rojos amateur team. His father, on the other hand, chose to take him to Barcelona, Spain, where he joined the world’s finest football team. He couldn’t speak English at this age. Because of his young age and nickname “Choche,” he was denied from the club’s youth academy when he returned to Argentina.

So, he went on to play with a football club called Albion de Mar where his talent was recognized. With them, he won the Rosario championship in 2004. He was 19 years old at this time and played for the Argentinean U-20 national team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. The South American nation won the silver medal after losing the final 1–0 to Germany in the final.

The Success of Barcelona

In the early 2000s, after his failure to make Argentina’s national team, Messi was left with no other option than to try his luck with the professional football club Barcelona. Here he met Lionel’s father Jorge Horacio Messi who persuaded him to stay and join a group of young Argentinian players which was called ‘La Masia’. The academy, which was the first of its kind in Europe and was created in 1979, was the starting point for many football stars, such as Alexis Sanchez, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Pedro Rodriguez, Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique, Thiago, and many others. For Messi, who had always dreamed of playing for the famed Catalan club, it was a matter of honor to complete the mission as a 16-year old teenager. In 2004, he joined the club and joined the first team in 2005.

Messi’s Greatest Achievement

Lionel Messi is considered by many as the best soccer player in the world. Messi was in the form of his life from 2009–2012, where he broke all the records and won 4 Ballon d’Or awards. At this point, we all knew that he was going to be the superstar in football. No other football player on the planet has won more awards than him.

Players come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Every player can be praised for their unique abilities, but the best team is the one that wins all of the championships. You can attempt to beat Messi if you believe you can, but only God knows who is the best. Messi is without a doubt the best.
